A bittersweet end to Movies in the Park at The Grove tonight, August 25- which will be showing Tangled. I’ve noticed that  this year’s movie line up consists of more child friendly/family movies. I was really loving all the action(still family friendly) movies like last years (Indiana Jones…). Thursday have been my favorite non weekend night to visit and do a walk through, the whole Grove lights up with the energy of the families, friends and hand held couples. Here is the line up of restaurants that actually do take outs for tonights show. For exclusive early access, pre-order gourmet picnics from any of The Grove restaurants. View the menus below and call the restaurant to pre-order to your picnic.  When you pick up your order you will receive a wristband for early access into the event. Nothing like dinner and a movie.

We still have jazz at LACMA Friday night!

Jazz Fridays at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art

Tomorrow night:

Friday, August 26, 2011 | 6 pm

LACMA’s Jazz night sponsored by KJazz is continuing through the end of September. Bring your blankets, picnic baskets or have dinner and wine at Ray’s & Stark Bar, the retro contemporary venue adjacent to the performance. There is seating infront of the stage next to the LACMA outdoor bar in between the Ahmason Building and BCAM. I recommend doing the picnic on the lawn, it’s a bit farther from the stage but completely worth the comfort value. It’s a night of classic music, family, friends and delightfully romantic if you are a party of two. Take advantage of this last month and make it an endless summer.

 (martini optional)

Executive chef Kris Morningstar presides over the kitchen. The Mediterranean-inspired menu includes a host of dishes from the wood-burning oven and wood grill. A separate menu is served in the adjoining Stark Bar, and both locales offer seasonal cocktails, a California-centric wine list, and artisan beers and spirits. Ray’s is open for lunch from 12–3 pm and dinner from 5–10 pm every day except Wednesday. Stark Bar is open 11 am–11 pm every day except Wednesday.
